Who needs the beach to experience time under the sea? This incredible first birthday party proves it can all happen in a backyard! From the sand dollars and tiny starfish to the various tones of blue, this event would even make Ariel jealous. The intention is present in the smallest of details, like the napkins scalloped similar to a shell. Step into the ocean without ever getting wet!
As a first-time mother, Jhoanne was excited for the family gatherings and celebrations that came with it: a baby shower, baptism, and the likes.
However, after a year of not being able to celebrate this pregnancy with loved ones, she and her husband Bon knew that coming out of quarantine, they had to create something special for their little girl’s first birthday. It was inspired by the sea, shells, and a pastel color palette of teal, coral, lavender, white, and iridescent accents. This theme was a classy, underwater escape! Think: everything but the mermaid!
Starting with the invitation, designed and produced by the mother herself, this piece was a mixture of die cuts and iridescent sheens. This also translated to the “Bottoms Up Bar” sign and acrylic welcome sign. With a picnic table featuring metallic shell plates, seashell straw name tags, iridescent cutlery, and scallop-edged napkins, it was a playful setting for these little fish.
The team completed the park ambiance with an all white bounce house/ball pit combo on an open helipad for kids (and adults) to run around. The gorgeous backdrop and balloon installation made for the perfect photo during the cake smash. Mama also made sure each family went home with a mini “sea-cuterie” box and seashell tote filled with snacks and goodies to thank them for celebrating one-der the sea.
Wishing your first birthday had looked like this under the sea extravaganza? We are too. Who says it is too late for this theme though?! As a result, we’re glad we have this inspiration to make it happen in the future. Take an easy trip to the beach. You’ll thank us later.
